Chapter 1
Lying and Dishonesty
The Problem
I have grouped lying and dishonesty together because they
have similar root causes.
Lying or dishonesty can wreak havoc in a person's life. It is
impossible to have truly intimate relationships with others,
because they don't trust you.
If you hate this tendency, you feel like the Apostle Paul did
when he wrote:
When This is how you feel about this problem in your life, it is
frustrating and defeating. No matter what you do, you can't
stop it.
There is a reason why you lie or are dishonest. It is not
because you consciously intend to do it, it just happens
spontaneously. It has happened before you know it. This is
because there is something deep inside you that impels you.
The Cure
The good news is that there is a permanent cure for this.
That "thing" inside you that impels you in that unwanted
direction can be healed by Jesus. When it has been healed, it
is simply gone, and so is the problem.
However, you need detailed instructions as to how to
appropriate the cure into your life, so you can be set free.
My book, "I Will Give You Rest" addresses the whole array of
human struggles that Jesus can heal. The chapter order is
for the majority of needs.
I would recommend that you start with Chapters 2 and 3,
which will explain to you why those impulses are so strong,
and why they resist your best efforts to stop them, and then
read the rest of the 19 chapters of the book in sequence.
You are free to spend as much time as you like on
this website, and you can jump in and out as your
schedule gives you time to read. When you come
back, you can just take up where you left off by
clicking on the appropriate chapter in the links on the
