Chapter 1
Distant From God

The Problem
Not being able to hear the voice of God can be very
frustrating.  After all, you probably know people who hear
Him clearly; but try as you will, you can't.

No matter how much time you spend studying the Bible, it
doesn't get any better.  There are many Christian books
available that purport to help one hear God; but since you are
on this web page, I presume that you are still trying to figure
out how to change this problem.

This problem seems to be bigger than you.

Why is this so?

How come your faith hasn't been adequate to give you the
victorious life Jesus promised?

Doesn't He want to talk to you?

Some Promises
After all, Jesus promised:

….where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2
    Corinthians 3:1, all NKJV).

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted . . .
To proclaim liberty to the captives . . .
To set at liberty those who are oppressed . . . (Luke 4:
    18).

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light (Matthew 11:
    30).

I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).

You probably know many more promises in the Bible.

What Is Wrong?
Somehow, the promises seem greater than the reality you are
experiencing.

Is this the way it should be?

How come your faith it isn't working?

These are reasonable questions.

In fact, they are the right questions.

There Is An Answer
All the above scriptures really are true.

You just need
detailed instructions as to how to
appropriate them into your life, so you can be set free.

The core issue with an inability to hear God is a separation
from the part of you where He resides.  You have a "radio
receiver" inside you which operates on God's wave length,
but long ago you turned the switch off.  Because this
happened when you were very little, you don't remember
doing that; but since you can't hear God, that is the proof that
it happened.

My book "I Will Give You Rest" addresses the whole array of
human struggles that Jesus can heal.  The chapter order is
for the majority of needs.

However, your issue needs specific attention, and so I would
recommend that you read the book in a different order.

Recommended Sequence
I would recommend that you start with Chapter 9, which will
show you how you built a wall inside that separates you from
conscious awareness of His presence in you.

Then go to Chapter
11, which will show you how very
important your emotions are, and why you need them set free
in your quest to commune with God.

Then read Chapter
12  which will help you to understand that
part of you that relates to God.

Finally, go back to Chapter
2 and read the rest of the
chapters in order.

Your Journey
I would recommend that you write down somewhere this
revised sequence of chapters so that you will not forget it -
remember,
9, 11, 12, 2.  Of course, you can always come
back here if you forget.

Be aware that when you read the chapters out of order, you
will bump into some terms with which you are not familiar,
because they were taught in earlier chapters which you have
not yet read.

However, this should not interfere with the main messages in
the chapters you are reading out of order.

You are free to spend as much time as you like on
this website, and you can jump in and out as your
schedule gives you time to read.  When you come
back, you can just take up where you left off by
clicking on the appropriate chapter in the links on the
left of the web pages.
