Bible Study
Many Christians feel stuck. They continually struggle with
the same issues. Many plead with God over and over for
Him to set them free, but life doesn’t change. Paul’s words
are very real to them:
This should not be so!
Studying the Bible is a very good thing. Unfortunately,
many times the Bible study does not change a person’s
life.
My book, “I Will Give You Rest,” is a practical guide as to
how to be changed by the Lord Jesus Christ, and thus be
set free from your bondage.
The New Testament Epistles reveal this provision for you.
The Apostles who wrote them in Greek were inspired by
the Holy Spirit, and so what they wrote is life giving.
However, in my experience, all English translations hide
some of the real meaning of the Greek.
I am presenting a translation of some of these key
passages. I invite you to come with me on this rather
unique Bible study.
You will find that some of my commentary will make more
sense to you if you will first read Chapters 2-5 of my book,
which are posted on this web page.

Understanding the Conventions
Used in the Translation
This is intended to be a literal translation, not a
paraphrase. Greek sentence structure is very different
than that of English. This means that sometimes the
sentences may seem a bit awkward to you. But the intent
is accuracy, not smoothness.
I have color coded some words and phrases so that you
can easily link them together.
The reference, “IWGYR page 40” is referring to page 40 of
my book, “I Will Give You Rest.” By referring to that page
you can get a more complete explanation of that issue.
“Strong’s # 1344” refers to word # 1344 in the Greek word
numbering system of James Strong.
The King James Version is presented in a parallel column,
so you can see the contrast in some verses. I chose the
King James because it is not copyrighted. Its
mistranslation on these key verses is no worse than most
other translations.
I have only translated sections of the Epistles that deal
with transformation, and which I believe have typically
been mistranslated.
